Workers' Paid Vacation Dreams

Workers who enjoy continuous work for more than 1 years shall be entitled to paid annual leave.

The specific measures shall be formulated by the State Council. "

In December 7, 2007, the 198th executive meeting of the State Council of China passed the regulations on paid annual leave for employees, which has been implemented since January 1, 2008.

From then on, employees paid annual leave with legal protection.


Paid vacation can ensure workers decent work, is an important symbol of social progress and civilization development.

At the same time, paid vacation is expected to have potential economic and social benefits, which will help more people to make time for family reunion and enjoy family happiness.

But for most people in the workplace,

In October 2008, a survey of 2441 people conducted by the China Youth Daily Social Survey Center through Sina showed that 54.5% of them had never had paid vacation, 23.5% of them had occasionally enjoyed it, and only 22% said "every year."

Some people say that "rice bowl is more important than welfare".

From the current stage of social development in China, "being fully employed" reflects the game between labor and capital.

Based on the requirements of laws and regulations and national policies, enterprises stipulate paid vacation in contracts or systems, and the profit seeking nature of capital determines that they should minimize labor costs.

"Being fully employed" is undoubtedly the footnote for the injury of workers' rights.


It is necessary for the government to implement the paid vacation system.

Push forward vigorously

In particular, personnel, labor and other related departments have to put forward feasible policies, requiring various implementing units to formulate specific plans, making them an operable system and making them an integral part of my work and life.

Shandong province will introduce the "outline for the development of national leisure in Shandong", take the paid vacation system of employees into the same level civilized units to assess, so that the implementation of paid vacation can be vigorously promoted by government action, so that the vast numbers of workers in Shandong can see hope.
