Mexico Mayor Of Tijuana Arrested For Illegal Possession Of Firearms

An official who declined to be named told The Associated Press that Mexico's army searched Leon's residence in Tijuana and took him to the office of the attorney general's office in Mexico.

The official said Leon was suspected of possessing 88 unlicensed weapons.

Another official confirmed this statement.

He also declined to give his name.

Leon's office did not respond to this incident.

Leon was born in 1956 and is one of the most famous businessmen and politicians in Mexico.

He served as mayor of Tijuana from 2004 to 2007.

His father Carlos Hank Gonzalez served as mayor of the capital city of Mexico.

Leon now controls the biggest lottery in Mexico and buys a local football team in Tijuana.

The number of animals in his private zoo was 20 thousand times, more than 5 times that of the San Diego zoo in the United States.

The Associated Press reported that Leon had 19 children with several women.

A few years ago, Leon once said that he was too rich and unnecessary.

"I will not put anything in my pocket, I will take it out," he said. "I have done a lot of business.

He has money to feed himself, his wife and children.
